And finally, we made it to the subway station to begin out hunt for people. At first we met a few of them and handed them our hampers out happily as there were people sitting on a warm furnace. However as we walked on and on, we found out that many of the people were not there because the weather was too cold. We, ourselves were cold as well, my hands were numb, my feet were freezing, as if they were getting cut off and my face was just dying. However we kept walking on and on until forever. Finally we made it to a park but we didn't find the place we wanted and so we went for a pit stop at second cup. My hands were just above to freeze by then and so I could not stop myself from buying a large coffee with lotsa sugar and milk. That was like the best feeling that I ever had and I could never forget the warm liquid flowing down my throat. I enjoyed ever mouthful of coffee until it was empty.
Then it was time to go on our journey to a shelter with renewed spirits. It was not long before we found it, however we still got lost a couple of times before finding that place. Inside it was not as bad as I thought it was. It was clean and very very nice with christmas trees, computers, Tvs, etc. I could even smell some good homemade cooking from the nearby kitchen. In the end, we handed out all our hampers and they were delighted to receive them with the addition of muffins(received from our second cup manager) and some ttc tokens.
After that, we went shopping. I was never much of a fan so I just returned home early.
What a long day with lots of walking. I need rest.
