Parties at Western - Friday September 23, 2011

Already... we have our parties starting in Western. This one, which was apparently not organized by our sophs or just Western in general... basically one that was planned by the students was having this party where people had to dress as little clothes as possible. Pretty jokes when I saw how my floor was so enthusiastic about it. One person in particular actually had no clothes except for a viking hat that was stuck to his groin and a paper that covered his butt. It was just hilarious when I saw it. Others just uhhh ya know has little clothes but were not as serious as him. So we went to visit other floors but boy, they were surprised at our viking boy who was the man of the show! As we got lower and lower to the floors below, the music starting booming and there were more people gathered. It was just a total mess in the staircase, with beer cans, spilled drinks, leftover food, etc all over the place. But that wasn't all, some of the floors had to have guards in front of their doors to prevent any damages to their floor because people go crazy when they are drunk! Apparently, some incident happened, though I don't know the exact details of what, but RA's were called to control the situation because it got out of hand on this particular floor. I am actually so glad I am on the quiet floor and the very top floor where no one would dare come up so many flights of stairs to bother us. Plus, we dont hear any of the loud music so I can get some good sleep!!!

I feel so Dead - Tuesday September 20, 2011

Today.... I woke up to the feeling of achingness because just yesterday, my sister took me to a dragonboat practice and although it wasn't that intense of a training... I had to go back to the recreation centre in the rainpour because I was gonna go play badminton with my friend. I was dripping wet when I came in but people interpreted me as sweating like a pig, which I was not. I was just super wet because of the rain. Then after our short badminton game, we rushed back in the rain again to arrive back in time for a surprise party for two of our floormates. It was pretty awesome how we surprised them and I was glad I took part in planning it.

Fraternity - Tuesday July 13, 2011

Another beginning of a week of hardcore university classes. I feel exhausted and it has only been the second week of university? It's gonna be really tough for me to keep this rate up especially with my lack of sleep right now. Anyways, I will try to find some way to manage my time between academics and extra-curriculars.... somehow. So today, my roomie talked to me about this fraternity thing he saw at the information booths on the campus. It was tonight at 10:00 and it was in London downtown, not in Western campus which equals something very suspicious. So we took the bus down and arrived at the doors at 9:45 but the party didn't start. I didn't even know it was a party until I went inside and heard the loud DJ music blasting inside the rooms. But inside, it was a whole different story, it was all men or for them, bro's. I was just speechless because it was just my very first time going! They had this swimwear theme and all the guys were wearing swimwear and apparently, girls were gonna arrive.. in their swimwear as well. How joyful would that be, and best of all, they got a big can of keg. I laughed when they tried opening the keg which resulted in the juice blasting out because it was pressurized. Inside was tons of beer and there were vodka elsewhere. Also, inside there was a table that was giving free samples of some energy drink similar to redbull. It wasn't too bad I guess. I didn't drink any beer tho.

O-Week Day 2 - Wednesday September 7, 2011

(Awesome movie)

Another early wake up call, followed by the sound of the alarms woke us up really fast. Today was our faculty meeting and we got to meet our Social Sci Faculty, one of the biggest faculties in Western. There were a few rotations to split up the big numbers and fit us in the classrooms. Inside, they talked more about charities and one of them even gave a touching presentation of someone he knew very dearly, had contracted cancer. It was certainly a crying moment when he finished and I could see the tears that were gathering up on his eyelids. This encouraged a lot of donaters, aka making money off us uni students but guess what, its all for CHARITY so its alright I guess.
Lunch was near, but I could not go because I had the MOSSA meeting to join. In the end, we returned to our rally with empty stomaches and had to sit through a 4 hour rally. We learned some Social Sci cheers and they made a SUPER FROSH TALENT SHOW, where froshies could show off any hidden talents that they had. It was honestly spectacular, with a barely immigrated chinese girl singing an English song really well, a Romeo and Juliet monologue, someone who could shrink their ears (it's actually true and I could not believe my eyes when I saw it) and someone dancing to the music of Tron Legacy. If it hadn't been my stomach growling the whole time, I would have had a great time watching it.

O-Week Day 1 - Tuesday September 6, 2011

(Wish that could happen to me!)

Today, it was the first day when our soph's decide to wake us up early with a loud and very loud morning call by knocking our doors, yelling, screaming, using a horn, almost everything they can possibly do to try and wake us up. It took awhile before many of us could pick ourselves out of bed and go down to eat breakfast. However there was one girl who was not able to wake-up even with all the racket. We went down to practice our SAUGEEN cheers and into a Dating Show. Basically, it explained to us how guys given the circumstances, would move-in and kiss a girl if they think the girl makes a move, even when its only having a hand on their leg. Logically speaking and from a guy's standpoint, it seems right but from the third-person's view, its just total beeswhack when you think it over again. So, body language is not the way to go to determine if the girl wants a kiss or not. In the end, our speaker told us to always ask because if your not comfortable asking, then your not ready to take the action. There was this scenario which I really loved. It starts off with the guy and girl having a great time and enjoying their date. It's nighttime and it's all quiet. The guy wants to kiss her and says, "Hey, it was a great night and I really enjoyed it! May I give you a kiss?" The girl rejects with a "No". Although the guy is disappointed, he replies "I'm glad I had asked because I didn't want to make you feel uncomfortable." That totally deserved an 'awww' moment. That just about wraps up our Dating Show. Lunch was on its way and after that, we had to practice our cheer numerous times before we went into the welcoming ceremony where we shouted our cheers. It was just like a normal welcoming ceremony, nothing special except that they made it so each rez and faculty could present their cheers. There was a hypnotist and I had a great laugh from it. Then there was a dance but I ditched and went downtown to get some dinner.

Move-in To Western - Monday September 5, 2011

My parents can blame me for my stupidity because I had got my move-in day wrong and I had thought it was on Sunday. So I had finished packign everything at Saturday and was ready to leave when I checked on the internet and later found out it was Monday. Got a long and hard scolding from those asian parents, haha. So today was the day to move-in to my new residence, Saugeen (known as the party rez!). It began my hectic life as I took my first step into the building. Inside, we got our o-week kits and other items, necklace, t-shirts, wristband, etc. Then we took a look in our room and unpacked. At first, I had thought I had brought too much stuff but after glancing around, I had pretty little compared to the rest. Then we had our lunch and walked around campus to look at the computer store, pharmacy, book store. After that, we had our floor meeting where we got to know our floor and watched a football game against Waterloo in a very cold and chilly weather. We annihlated them with 31-0 in the first quarter and I was too cold to see the rest.
At night, there was this Limbo dance where people dance and write on each others shirt. It got wild and apparently, one of the girls took off their shirts and started dancing in her underwear.... LOL

I had missed the night dance because I was way too tired from the carride and I still had some jet lag in me.

Part of My Shang Hai Trip

Shang Hai Trip Day 1 – Tuesday August 21, 2011

It only took a 2 hour flight from Hong Kong to Shang Hai. But within that 2 hours, we were provided with a delicious dinner. The part where it was so amazing was that one of my relatives who sat beside me on our flight was vegetarian and didn’t eat dinner. She only eats two meals a day and skips dinner so I was given an extra dinner to solve my stomach problems. When we arrived at Pu Dong Airport (not too clear about the name) it was 9:00PM. We retrieved our luggages and was about to take the subway to our hotel. However it turns out that the airport subway closed at 9:00PM. Our only alternative was to take the bus which we had no clue as to what stop to get off at. We tried our best with our limited resources to get a better picture of how to get as close to our hotel as possible. We used GPS, our cellphones and our labtops to find a general location of where we are. Thankfully our busstop was right next to the our supposed subway stop. We hitched a short ride on the local subway before we got off at our stop but the exit closest to our hotel was closed because it closed at 10:00PM which was exactly the time we just arrived. Forced to take the longer route, we ended up losing our location and had to ask people on the streets for directions. Even with the directions, it took us nearly 20 minutes to walk to our hotel with our luggage beside us. It was nearly nightfall when we made it to the hotel so I took a light shower and went to sleep.

Shang Hai Trip Day 2 – Wednesday August 22, 2011

I am writing this today, Thursday August 23, 2011 and I practically forgot what we have done today. All I remembered was the big misleading dinner that we had. However after giving it some more thought, the events of the past came up one by one. We went to Hang Zhou to visit the water village. Nothing that special except there was water surrounding it and it is a water village that has been around for many many years. We had a tour about some different styles of beds, the simple carved vs complicated carved beds meant different dynasties. We boarded a small boat and toured around for a bit and went out for lunch. It was a very cheap lunch where all of us were practically full to the brim with food. Then we went towards West Lake and took a boat towards an island in the middle of West Lake. We only had 45 minutes before the last boat left the island. Then we went for dinner because it was getting late. When we arrived and sat down on the restaurant tables. We were discussing when my uncle noticed that the waiters took away a menu. We looked at the rest of the menu’s and when we asked for a few more copies since we only had two on hand, they said they had only two menus in the entire restaurant. Bear in mind, the restaurant had over 100 tables and we only took up 2 tables while the rest of the place was very empty. We found it very suspicious and asked for the menu that we looked at before but they would not give it back. Apparently, the prices rose and so the old menu which they had taken away was not suitable. We thought we were being cheated and started asking for a set meals because on the menu, it only showed individual meals. They immediately went to work to create three set menu for us. Though it took less than 5 minutes, we were pretty sure they had typed it out because it was on a plain piece of paper. Sad to say, we had no choice but to order from the set menu because we would be causing a hard time for our tour guide if we just took our stuff and left. To our surprise, they gave us a plentiful dinner and it was very worth the price. In the end, we found out we weren’t being cheated but we had misunderstood.

Shang Hai Trip Day 3 – Thursday August 23, 2011

Today, we went to a big Buddha place where there was four big statues. Each statue meant a different direction, north, east, south and west. However each of the statues were missing something, one was missing a sword sheath, another was missing a snake’s tongue, a third was missing the umbrella skeleton while the last was something that I forgot already. Then we went out for 雷峰塔. It was a five story tower and at the very top, we could see the 西湖and many other areas of Hang Zhou. It took a long time walking up towards the tower as well as getting down. We went out for lunch at some restaurant which had no air conditioning. Although the food was plentiful and totally worth the prices, the a/c part was very disheartening. I was so full after eating several plates full of food. Our tour guide took us to a silk museum where we were given instructions on how to differentiate between real and fake silk. The only method was not to look or feel the silk but to burn it. If we were to burn real silk, it would not catch on fire very easily because their boiling point is high. Also, white smoke came out from burning instead of the usual black from cotton. We would have to ask the sales representative to do the burning because from the guide’s saying, we burn, we pay. If they burn, it’s not our problem and we would know that it is fake. After hearing this, they showed us 100% silk-made blankets and blanket covers. It was at a very cheap price and many of my uncles bought one though my family didn’t. That museum tour ended and we went out for free shopping at near the West Lake before we watched a performance. This performance was spectacular, because people were actually performing on a stage on water. It was just amazing at their style of acting such as using yellow and red fish lights, lighted flying birds, and large feathers. That concluded our day.

Shang Hai Trip Day 4 – Friday August 24, 2011

I just found out today but Hang Zhou is actually a different area that’s outside of Shang Hai. Today, we took our last ride with the tour bus and crossed the borders toward Shang Hai. However it took around three hours and twenty minutes before we arrived in the center of Shang Hai. The tour guide described that Shang Hai has two big highways which cross in the middle. In the middle is Shang Hai’s center and it’s basically their downtown area. Besides the highways, there is a ring around the city which makes Shang Hai look like a Chinese word if you glanced from a helicopter view. First, we went to a pearl museum where they taught a lesson on how to differentiate between fake and real pearls. It’s basically rubbing the two pearls together lightly. If it turns rough then its real, however if it’s still smooth then its fake. After that, we had a look at their pearl store but the prices were way too high. Oh yea, for pearls, there are fresh water and saltwater oysters and apparently, the salt water oysters are more expensive. However it is very hard to determine if it’s salt or fresh water. At the end of the pearl tour, each of my family members took a small pearl (not exactly round and it’s pretty small) from a nearby cracked oyster. That was the end of our Shang Hai tour and we returned to our hotel to change because we had a family banquet at night. It was to celebrate the marriage of one of my cousins and I was finally allowed to drink some alcohol though it was poor quality. After drinking half a bottle of red wine mixed with tons of pepsi and 7up, I felt a little bit tipsy but I was totally fine. I was deeply disappointed with the fact that our banquet had no cake but there was a cake on display only. It was pretty late when we returned home but me and my cousins decided to sleep a little bit later since we wanted to get some more alcohol. We each drank a shot at the hotel’s local bar but it was so expensive, around $80. So we went to a convenience store nearby and bought a whole bottle of Smirnoff plus some fanta to fulfill our alcoholic desires. It totaled $90ish which was pretty decent. One thing that I was glad about this night was that I was finally above 18 and legal to drink in CHINA and HONG KONG!!

Unexpected Birthday Party - Thursday August 11, 2011

Its already the last month of summer before my university life begins. Though it feels like time passes by so fast, at my workplace, its a completely different story. I've worked at my workplace, an accounting firm that I had luckily got, for around 1 month and boy, its been a constantly dull, repetitive and no brainer job. But really, I can't expect much with a high school graduate certification. Anyways, it was a paid job so it was all good. All the suffering meant I could have some spending money on my trip to Hong Kong and Shang hai, which by the way is in 4 days time! I honestly have nothing to pack and I have two empty luggages that im gonna bring along my trip.

Whiling working and having the feeling of sleepiness envelope me, I received a sudden phone call from my friend inviting me to a party that started an hour ago. Apparently, he forgot to add me to the mailing list and so I never received an invite to his party until now. At the same time, I received a text about a seller who wanted to meet up to sell his mobile phone. Recently, I needed to get a phone and a plan as I move to London so I desperately needed to find a cheap and durable phone. When I left my workplace, I found out the seller changed his mind and wanted to reschedule our meeting to tomorrow. Disappointed and gloomy, I trekked to the birthday party. It turned out that better than I thought and I had a good laugh. One person in particular actually got drunk from just a bottle of beer. His whole personality changed from his actual self which I had seen at school. He turned all perverted and had such a sick attitude. It was funny as he insulted random people, doing weird gestures and just dancing away.

Night It Up Review Meeting - Saturday July 30, 2011

I had an initial thought of just skipping this meeting because firstly it was so early on a Saturday morning, from 10am - 2pm and usually meetings like these felt boring and disappointing. It turned out pretty awesome but still had some disappointment in it as well. Disappointed because I thought there would be lunch since the meeting went past lunch time. Instead of giving us a lunch break, we weren't even allowed to leave our seats until 3pm, an hour past our planned schedule. Though my stomach felt like it would never see the sight of food again, I was able to hear many of the troubles and unexpected events that I didn't know about for Night It Up! We went through VRT, Marketing, Web, Sales, Sponsorship, Finance, Logistics teams. They all had concerns and voiced out their impressions of the NIU event and the performance of their teams. In VRT, they had a lot of problems because many of the volunteers just slacked off and didn't do their work. The volunteers, usually wearing the blue shirt, we didn't expect much from them but to just finish one simple task properly which didn't happen. It just ended up in the hands of the organizers, in the purple shirts. Seeing that I was an organizer, I experienced first-hand what it feels like to be doing all the dirty work for the event. BUT, I can finally say that I've done this work before and have some bragging rights! I laughed when the VRT director growled that he found volunteers chillin' at a nearby McDonalds while we were working our butts off.
For Marketing, based on their calculations, we had approximately 90,000-10,000 participants throughout our two day event but apparently this estimate was wrong. We had even more supposedly and the vendors who also sold their products at the T&T Waterfront Nightmarket (our rivals/competition) had complained about the poor work environment provided by T&T. One of the vendors quoted, "Even if they gave us a booth for free, I wouldn't go back" I laughed!
For Web, our whole website was run by only one person who updated and set-up our awesome website with over 63,000 views with users staying on the site for around 2 minutes. Next year, I think I'm gonna join Sales because it sounds really fun. There isn't much issues concerning Sales, except that there wasn't enough members to handle the vendors. The rest of the teams, didn't have anything in particular because they weren't important on the day of the event. Except Logistics, there was so many problems. Firstly, seeing that our Logistics director was going to retire, he said that he recommended we hire a consultant because the responsibilities cannot be fulfilled because there was too much planning involved. Poor guy, I kinda felt bad for him because he dedicated so much time for the success of this event. Apparently a whole platoon of police officers showed up and had a talk with him because they were asking why we only hired 2 paid duty officers to take care of all the traffic during the Night Market. Our director was speechless and could only mouth, "umm we didn't expect so much people to come" I laughed so hard then. Then there was the case of the robbery incident during the first night of our nightmarket and we learned a lesson, to make sure we have security when it is closing time.
Then there was the garbage disposal issues, garbage buildup was a common sight and its just a disaster to try and walk with a bag of garbage through a crowded area. Therefore we had to implement a new plan during the second day which was to put the garbage cans on the outskirts of the event so it would ease garbage picking. However it resulted in a massive garbage mountain at the stage equipment area. Juice from pineapple cores dripped into the equipment and it was a sad sight to see it but have no control as people continued to put garbage on it. I feel bad for the stage crew who were in charge of the equipment.

That's about all that I can remember from the long meeting. I really learned a lot and will definitely join NIU again next year!

Night It Up! - Saturday July 16, 2011

What an epic day. Slept at 4AM the previous night but woke up and got to work at 9AM in the morning. I'm surprised I didn't fall asleep as I was showering. Anyways the day started with the blazing hot sun shining on top of us. I remembered to put sunscreen but it was already too late since I had a red Rudolph nose. Sighh now I have to put up with ppl commenting about my nose. Night It Up Round 2, started with very little people but as the time passed, it became a hectic and crowded place of litter, people, and stinky tofu smell. I could not bear the smell of stinky tofu and would avoid it every time I passed. But there was like 3 stinky tofu booths and the always had very long line-ups. Thank god I didn't like it otherwise I would be one of them, waiting in line. The day passed by really slowly because there was a lot of work to be done behind the scenes while others were enjoying the event. I decided to enjoy the event as well since I was an 'organizer' the people who had purple shirts and just walked around looking through all the booths. That took like 5 hours because I could barely walk in the crowd. Anyways after looking through the booths, I found nothing really special except the goldfish booth where u have a piece of paper which is stuck on a circular stick and you try to catch a baby goldfish on it. Although it seems impossible, I saw tons of people catching it with such ease. At night, it was just a disaster because garbage was piling up and it was our responsibilities as Night It Up volunteers to empty the garbage and return it to the garbage receptors. For onlookers, it was an enjoyable sight as volunteers screamed as garbage juice flew on them when they were trying to take out garage. For us, it was just a painful and tough job. After that experience, I will never ever try to be a garbageman again.
At midnight, the stores had to close and there were many many discounted prices of foods and products. However the volunteers had to continue working and were not allowed to go and buy stuff. I, being the typical lazy boy, slipped out so while the purple shirted people ordered the blue shirted volunteers around. I went around looking at deals and spent around $1 on stuff that was on sale for $4-5 before. I enjoyed spicy chicken poutine, korean rice cake, 3 tapioca drinks all for a total of $5. There was ice cream for $2 but I was too late and the booth had closed before I got there. After enjoying that short shopping spree, I had to go back to work acting as if I was working the whole time. It was a long and enduring work even for a strong boy like me. I wonder how the girls were able to put up with all the work. The work consisted of putting away the tables, chairs, picking up garbage, moving the garbage, taking down baricades and cleaning up all sorts of items. It lasted until 4AM until the executive team told us to go home and come back at 9AM again.
I could not work anymore and I slept until 8PM haha. Well-rested mentally but my legs are aching still.

Its so lonely, lonely, lonely... - Thursday July 14, 2011

After watching City Hunter and during one of the scenes, the main character had to sacrifice his love to finish his destiny. Then after, this song which depicted his loneliness played and I felt sympathy and remorse for him.
Suddenly, I realized that my situation is not that far from him and I could somewhat relate to him although its a drama. Seeing others have fun while celebrating birthday parties, watching movies together and just hanging out makes me kinda jealous because I wasn't able to participate. On the other hand, I see the magic of love from couples as they

Inspiration - Thursday July 7, 2011

Suddenly, I have become a drama addict. Welllll to be exact, a korean drama addict. I'm only watching korean because chinese dramas are easy to predict their endings and japanese is just japanese. I dunno but I'm suddenly really attracted to Kdrama. On my first day of watching drama, I had watched 12 straight episodes of my current favourite drama City Hunter. But long before that, I got a little hooked on to another Kdrama, Runaway Plan B however that doesn't really count. Anyways, as I watched City Hunter, it had hit the spot and I couldn't believe I went beserk when the next episodes weren't finished. And so, I searched from blogs to begging friends about any dramas that are similar to City Hunter. I got a big fat 'NO'... I tried, Iris and Sungkyunkwan Scandal but it just couldn't compare to the thrill, excitement, adorable and action-packed drama. And now I have decided to give up on this hunt. Today I found out that the next two episodes just came out and I was just glad to use two hours to finish the next episodes. One thing I really hate about dramas are the cliff-hangers for each episode, which leaves the watcher dying for the next episode. At the same time, I really wanna congratulate them on their efforts at putting the watchers (including me) fidgeting as we desperately wait for the next episodes to come out. Anyways, I'm done with my kdrama rage.
Now back to the original topic on hand. While I was working at my workplace, I was finally able to get to know my co-workers (only 2) better. One of them was an older and retired lady who wanted a stress-free job as a secretary. During our long chat, she told us a lot of success stories which were really inspiring and touched my heart because I felt that I could accomplish the same results as those people. Anyways here goes my storytelling... just be warned that you might fall asleep.
This person who had an IQ of 164 (considered a genius since normal people have 120 generally) was a really smart kid and could predict many things. During school, he would be wearing really weird clothing and people would question his fashion sense. All of his clothes came from Asia and other areas of the world and as we all know, Canada is like 10 years behind other countries in many things including our TTC which I will not comment about that. Anyways, he would reply with: you will see in 2 years time because this will be the new style of dressing and he would always be right. He was also fluent in 5 languages, english, japanese, korean, chinese, thailand which was just amazing and soon he was able to land a good job based on his abilities and the potential that many corporations had found in him. He was sociable and had attracted the King's twin daughters in Arabia. Through his relationship with the daughters, he made many connections which became really useful during the later parts of his career. He had predicted that a golf course and hotel would be really successful in a city within Korea and needed investors to purchase the land. Through his connections from the King's daughters who were really people with a lot of money at their disposal. He was able to close off the deal with their help which became a success. My impression was like: What a LUCKY GUY... but he had the knowledge to back himself up with all that languages.

Another story was about how a korean who attended New York University (NYU). The tuition for NYU was massive with 60-70k per year. While he was in university, a really well-known korean company from Korea was recruiting people and when they saw the NYU University on his resume, they immediately hired him for the summer. During the two months, he earned 75k (enough to pay off tuition and more). His parents have made a really good investment in sending their child to NYU.

A story about the secretary herself was about how she had found a summer job as a data entry clerk like us and was working in a big company. The manager liked her work ethics because the other people who were in their 40's were always chatting and didn't work very efficiently. The manager offered her a position for the summer of her second year. After the second summer, the manager was really impressed and had given her the opportunity to become a finance manager after she graduated from her university.

After hearing all these successful and inspiring stories, I had some thoughts about myself too. I decided to work hard and try and be as successful as them!! which will be my mission!

Start of Another Week - Sunday July 3, 2011

It sure has been an eventful first week of work for me already.
First day: Late to work because I missed my bus
Second day: I fall asleep at my workplace
Third day: My bus actually breaks down so I ended up late again... (what a bummer, it wasn't my fault I guess)
Fourth day: I ask for an early leave already for some workshop

Man... my boss will not be happy with all this, but its all over and I'm pretty well-rested after this weekend. I spent like 97% of my time watching drama especially kdrama because I have a sudden urge to watch it after my friend recommended me to watch one. Now I'm hooked with City Hunter and from Thursday afternoon to Friday night, I had already watched 12 episodes of it. I was so addicted to it because its just such an amazing drama. There were so many emotional and at the end, there would always be this cliff-hanger. I could not stop myself from watching the next episode until I got to episode 12 because this drama was still ongoing and so they have not produced episode 13 yet. So, in order to fill up my drama addiction, i have been trying to find other dramas that can compare to City Hunter. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find any... but one that is pretty close is IRIS which I'm watching but I'm getting bored though.

2nd day of work - Tuesday June 28, 2011

After the first day of work, I decided to try and sleep early because I was feeling sleepy at work. I slept at 11:30PM and still I woke up with a sleepy mood. I woke up at 7AM with a sore throat. Even after my cold shower, I felt like sleeping just a little bit more. But I couldn’t risk getting into the bed because I might end up waking late and being late to work. I got on the bus and felt like sleeping but I was afraid I might miss my stop as well.

I finally arrived at work and my mood didn’t improve one bit. Tried going through my work but in the end I had to doze off for an hour before I could get back to work. From then on, I plowed through all my work.

My first two fears of the day are: my increasingly large debt from tuition and the dim chances of finding work.

First Day of Continuous Work - Monday June 27, 2011

Finally i got a job that will last for one month rather than my last work experience of only one day from the federal elections. Thank goodness, I was able to find this job otherwise I would have been unemployed and bored out of my mind during the whole summer. Now there is something to keep me busy. The night before my work day I had planned my schedule of getting to work.

I woke up early in the morning to get ready and got out at exactly the right time as planned. The bus was supposed to arrive at 8:02 but when I got to the bus stop at 7:58, I saw my bus leaving. I was like “NO WAY” because I would have to wait 20 minutes for another one. It turns out that the online bus schedule was different from the actual bus schedule. The bus was supposed to leave 7:57 and so I was panicking as I waited 20 minutes for that STUPID BUS. By the time I arrived at my workplace, I was late but not by much because I ran 2 blocks to reduce my lateness. Went inside with sweating like a pig and sweat was dripping everywhere. I was an ugly sight and all this would not have happened if only I had arrived at the bus stop just a few minutes earlier. This will be one thing that I will remember.

At work, my duty entailed typing in data in excel for seven whole hours every day. Within the first 2 hours, I felt so sleepy and almost dozed off. Thank god, my boss was not there because he was at a meeting elsewhere. I wonder how I’m gonna survive another month of this same work everday. Haha.

Graduation of High School - Saturday June 25, 2011

Its already the end of high school and I'm glad that I can move on to something else. Something bigger and better, start new and to have fun without my parents. During the Graduation/Commencement, we had to speak our names and the teacher would read out the university we decided to attend next year as well as any personal comments that we wanted to provide. There were the basic 'Ohhh's and 'Ahh's when the teacher said some State University or some other universities that weren't located in Canada. Some people gave some pretty random comments along with their university like he was gonna be chillin like a boss, I will make my parents proud, etc. I decided to write 'im going to be a big boy' but the teacher didn't pronounce my sentence with a chinese accent which I had wanted it to.

SAO meeting Today - Thursday June 23, 2011

Today was my Western's first Orientation meeting. So, my parents had to drive me 2 hours and a half to travel to London, Ontario to my university. We wanted to arrive between 8:45 and 9:15 because it was free parking and I woke up at around 6:20? So we were pretty late plus we also turned into the wrong street and got a little lost but we still made it in time with 2 minutes to spare before it turned 9:15. The feeling that there was a chance that we could make it as well as a possibility that we will not make it and have to the penalty of paying parking fees. It was a sort of exhilarating and scary feeling.
They welcomed the SAO students with an awesome Western school song which was actually really good... compared to my high school's school song. LOL. Then we went into small groups where we started planning our courses for our first year of university. I had already spent 4 hours yesterday night trying to plan my timetable and failed. This provided time for me to revise my courses as well as ask questions to the university students. Lunch came very soon and then there was a campus tour. Unfortunately, I had to leave my tour early because I had an appointment with my guidance counsellor about my course registration. It turns out that there was a very very very long line-up and we had to wait an hour and twenty minutes before we were able to get inside the room. I was supposed to get there at 1:00PM but I went inside at 2:15PM. But inside, the room, we still had to wait for our turns to talk to the counsellors. Finally it was my turn and I blasted all my questions to her. She was surprised that I was really prepared but I just kept asking questions non-stop and it took a very long time before she got through all my questions. But after that, we still had to register our courses through the internet. Fortunately, there were university students to help us out and also, I had already finished a bunch of my course registrations last night so that process went by pretty quick.

As we were waiting, I talked with friends in the similar programs. One of them was pursuing their career as a neuro surgeon. We exclaimed: "Your aiming really high" and he said he knows. He said that he was amounting to around half a million after finishing his undergrad and his med school and more. Haha, poor kid but my debt would be similar to that but a little less thankfully. Then he talked about how his sister who had a 94.3 avg in high school got a 97% avg in University. Im like "WHAT DA EFFF"!? How da hell is that possible... Anyways she was pursuing a career in dentistry, and apparently their first project was to learn to carve on a piece of soap! Hmm, I should try that someday.
Then he said that if you put two matches together, with a penny below one of them and you light one match, it will carve upwards in the shape of a "u"... thats pretty amazing yet unrealistic in my mind.. Gotta definitely try that out!

Then there was the long car ride back. My parents counted that there was a distance of 200km between London and Toronto. My mom even said that she will never ever drive me to Western again because it was too much work. LOL Guess I have to count on GreyHound from now on...
Im excited for university now and finished with the boring high school life that I led.

University Planning - Monday June 20, 2011

So many things happened today. Firstly, went out to buy new sandals, buy new pair of glasses and much more. Got bored and read a little of Twilight too. I really don't know why they hate the book. Its a book with a romantic story, nothing wrong with that. I understand their reasons for disliking the movie but the book is normal.

University Planning is a bummer. I have no knowledge of my university and any courses and I need to do some hard researching on everything from the courses, my prerequisites for future courses and the conditions to stay in my program. Its all such a pain and confusing especially trying to navigate on the website.
And now, I need to find my courses ASAP, otherwise it will fill up soon.

Such an unbusy day - Saturday June 18, 2011

Is unbusy a word? I guess not but it does convey the meaning so I guess I'm gonna make it my word now. I spent my whole day renewing my experience of video gaming. I completely missed it while I was finish my grade twelve year and finally I can get to forget about all the stress that I have accumulated from the whole school year through my game. Then my brother and I bargained a deal where I would help him write a 20 page essay for $60. I wonder if it was worth it with all the research, reading and all to write this essay. Oh well, I got bribed for the first time and it feels bad. I usually get bribed with food and not money because I'm not that fond of money and I don't exactly revolve around it. Finally finished it and i'm proud of myself!!
Then my brother told me to throw him a loaf of bread because he had to take medicine. The medicine as always is bitter and has this disgusting taste and so he was using the plain bread to cover the taste. So I decided to throw him the loave of bread but he couldn't even catch a loave of bread. Unfortunately, it fell right on his cup of medicine and it spilled on the floor immediately. Guess who had to clean it up? ME... sighhh.. what a pain in the butt.

Selena Gomez is actually so hot!!! IMO

Gr 12 Officially Over - Wednesday June 15, 2011

After my 2 hour long accounting exam, my gr 12 year has come to an end. Hopefully I dont have to repeat this again because I don't have enough credits to get my high school diploma. That would really suck. My teacher asked me why I wasnt in class for the end of the school period and I told her my sleep was more important!! Haha, I bet she laughed!!!
Exams over... Summer has started. Too bad it will be my last high school summer before university!!

Had another large argument with my mom again. She's one person that no matter how I reason with, I won't ever win. Its sad and when usually I just have to listen to her demands and just swallow my anger. Its terrible and its just one reason why Im leaving tdot maybe forever!
So basically, there was this tv show that talked about the transition from children to adolescent, where their hormones are changing and they have more mood swings. The parents should understand that and try to encourage them instead of scolding. My parent didn't even listen to this comment but continues to scold me for everything from working to playing games. When I show her my report card, she says she doesn't believe in the Ontario school system anymore because I get high marks too easy. I am like WTH, I work hard yet you just say this... Great, how am I supposed to prove that I work then? Then she says I dunno. I AM JUST WOW. literally speechless because shes just so darn DUMB. sighh pissed off at her.
