Failure is not acceptable

Today was the very end of summer school. It was time to take our report cards and find out how we did. I arrived at school like half an hour late but it was okay. I got my mark and it was an 84 which was pretty bad. My exam mark was apparently 50/60 which didn't help much. Great, an 84 isn't really acceptable especially for Gr. 12 English and so I have decided to retake English in Virtual School during my school year. Whether my parents like it or not, I have decided and I will go through to the end. No looking back anymore! After that, I went to a friends house to play pool. We got bored after playing pool and went up into his house to play a wii. There were 4 people but only 2 wii controllers which was saddening. Another friend wanted to come and so we made him bring 2 more wii controllers so we could have 4 wii controllers in total. However, sad thing was, the battery was running low for the wii controllers and we had to go out to buy batteries. I never knew that wii controllers used so much batteries. It's quite scary how batteries are used up so fast for it. We started playing SUPER SMASH BROTHERS BRAWL again!. My favourite wii game ever! and I was owning with Ike, got an avg of 5 kills per game. Most was 10 today. I think I am getting better and better with Ike but some of his weaknesses are that when he gets consecutively hit along the edge. Then he is a goner because his jump isn't that great. I tried out another character which was Snake and boy the controls for him was hard.
After that we played Raving or Raging Rabbits. Pretty fun and immature game with some awkward noises and it required lots of motion from the wii remote. We played Mario Party after and my team got owned. We also ate a lot of crackers and a chicken nugget with dumplings. AND That's my day.

I must go pack for my Practice Hike!

Some addition to my Survival Camp

Wish my canoes were like this.. but our canoes were apparently $2000 and we wrecked them pretty bad as we went across the rapids. You can see the scratches and scrapes at the bottom of the canoe.

During our BBQ after the long long canoe paddle. We had so much good food and junk food but it was all worth it. The food was especially tasty with my empty stomach. Also there were 2 rescue dogs which were black and white. There was another one that was injured and a smaller dog which was apparently very vicious. We had music, and fun for like a few hours before we had to continue paddling to our final destination. This place was where we will get picked up and where we dropped off our canoes. As we were at the end of the BBQ, the guides rounded all of us up in a circle and started giving us nicknames. There was Hollywood, Snow White, Rapper, Hairdo, Softie, Chuck-it and many more names that they came up with on the spot. Sadly, I was named as Stud Muffin a rather insulting name because I was paired up with two girls in my canoe. Although it was fun, we were always last and the slower of all the canoe teams. Oh well, it was fun and we had good laughs together. Although we were pretty fail, since we had flipped our canoes countless times as we went down the rapids. But they were good times. Oh yea, before our BBQ we had some activities and challenges to perform. First off, we had to stand in our canoes and try and switch places with the steerer and the person in the front. It was really hard since the canoe was unstable and we were not that good at balance ourselves. Eventually, our canoe flipped and we had to scream for help. Our next challenge was to experience how it feels to have too much people in the canoe. Usually, a canoe fits 3 people but we decided to load up 7 people in a canoe. The sides of the canoe were right next to the water which was really scary because at any time or moment, water would spill into our canoe which would further sink our canoe. We had to play leap-frog with 7 people which was terribly hard and all of us tipped at any some point. These were really hard tasks and almost impossible to do.

As we reached our final destination, all our soreness and tiredness disappeared as we paddled the last 100 metres till the shores. After that it was a 3 hour ride to our homes. On the way, we stopped by a MacDonalds. Unfortunately, I was poor and I did not bring my wallet so I was jealous as people bought their MacDonald meals and a McFlurry and the $1 drinks on the bus. I continued sleeping the whole way.

All Nighter

Yes, as the title says, I have pulled an all-nighter trying to finish my summative/culminating activity. Although my english exam was over, it was not the end of my english assignments though. Throughout the whole night, I was sleepy and tired but I stayed awake to finish it all. In the end, I had 3 hours of sleep and I was definitely grateful to be able to have some sleep. This week has been a total rush for me. With all the assignments and exams and my challenges over, I can finally be able to breathe a sigh of relief. Finally all the work is over and I can have a short rest before another activity comes to my way. I must catch up on my math homework before I get behind.
Also, I heard Cultura is coming up. I might go tomorrow to take a small peek at how its like. Apparently there is a movie at 9PM which is charlie and the chocolate factory. Its a nice movie and the book was awesome. I hope I can have fun. At the same time, I must prepare for my practice hike that is coming up this weekend.

E3 Challenge #2 P&G

Yes that's right, all our efforts from yesterday was all for today. Today's presentation will determine if all our work last night was a waste or not! Ok summer school was boring as usual and so I was looking forward to our Challenge. We were supposed to meet at Sheppard and Yonge at 4:15PM. I got there at 4:30PM and waited there but saw no one coming. So I went to the P&G building at 5:30PM and my partners and mentor got mad at me. It was supposed to start at 5:00PM which I did not know. Good thing we were presenting last otherwise my team would have killed me. So I was supposed to wear business casual which I remembered but suddenly, my mentor says its business professional. I needed a blazer which was a bother. In the end, I went up without a blazer. Not only that, we had made a video to include in our presentation but we could not download it because the P&G building did not have any wifi. So that video was a waste. I think our group did well presenting our idea. After all the presenting, the judges asked us questions and they were really specific and hard questions. And most of it was directly with university-related stuff which I had no idea how to answer. Thank god we had a few university students in my group! After our presentation, they said they would treat us at dinner. I ate a deluxe bento with salmon teriyaki, cucumber rolls, salmon rolls, shrimp tempenyaki, miso soup, ice cream, fruit and tons of rice. When we were about to leave, we were told that we needed to pay the meal ourselves. WHAT THA HECK!? and so, my wallet became completely empty because of this. I was sad and felt like I was scammed!

Long Night

The first day of summer school from the weekend since I missed Friday. Man I am tired and exhausted. I had very little sleep because I had to catch up with my homework. School was pretty normal with all of us bored. After that, I had to rush to my partner's house to do our project. We worked till 2AM in the morning rehearsing for our presentation. Ok here is what happened. We had finished our first challenge which was the Night It Up Challenge and we were on to our second one! We had 2 weeks to work on this challenge but apparently all of us were too lazy to work for the first week. We have been meeting up literally everyday ever since to get this presentation done. Well I wasn't there everyday because I was at survival camp and that was pretty fun. Still have a sunburn and my itchy mosquito bites still. My sunburn hurts terribly and my mosquito are so freaking itchy. I scratched it till it was bleeding which is pretty bad. Darn after-bite doesn't work anymore. What am I gonna do. So we stayed up till 2 AM rehearsing and getting ready for tomorrow. I got a big big box of rice and it was way better than my parent's rice. Got home at like 3AM and then I had to finish my summer school homework.

Survival Camp Day 3

It was sad that all of it was over so soon and I was back to my summer school life. It was sad to say goodbye to all my friends again but I will see them next week because of the Gold Practice Hike. We got up with an empty stomach but we had nothing but only a fruit cup to fill that growling stomach. We had another good time canoeing for like 5 hours with waves this time. It was hard work especially from waves and more waves from motor boats that kept coming by. We decided to ask how fast we were canoeing from a motor boat and he said our speed was not registered which meant it was under 10km/h. That was terribly saddening.

Then we found ourselves at the back of all the canoes and we felt that we were kind of slow. We thought that our canoe was kind of low but our counsellors said it was not. So we thought it was because we kept zigzagging and we were not always on a straight path which meant we were wasting a lot of effort because we had to keep turning. (BTW I was not steering by this time) And then we thought it was because we were not steering right and that we were not doing the J-shape stroke. Finally we found out that it was because of our weight distribution. I was in the front of the canoe with two other small girls at the back. Apparently it was harder to paddle with the front of the boat lower than the back. Usually a canoe would be with the front higher than the back but this time it was different which resulted in our slowness. We came across a small rapid and I got up from our canoe and walked my canoe against the currents to get up. It was extremely tiring but we came across an amazing surprise in the end.

Guess what it was!? Even I was not ready for it. So as we were paddling across the lake, we came across an amazing good smell. The smell of barbeque and hamburgers. Then one of my partners were screaming VEGGIE Burger because she didn't eat it for like a long time and she was the only one vegetarian. She was not entirely vegetarian too.... and a peskitarian, which was able to eat seafood. Oh well, we kept paddling after smelling the good smell and thought we would have to continue paddling for the next while. Then suddenly we saw all our canoes parked up on the shore. We were in for a surprise right there. We were going to have a BBQ with chips, hamburgers, soda, hot dogs, chili, pasta, mashed potatoes and more food! Apparently the smell that we smelled was from the backyard and this was the biggest reward we ever had. I had loved it because we were all starving and thought we were going to be eating from our menu which was one small hot dog.

Just as we finished and we were all fat, we were going to canoe for like 3 more hours before we got to the point where we had to unload our canoes. It was especially tiring with our slow canoe problem. My arms were extremely sore from this and my legs had a sunburn because I was stupid enough not to put on sun-tan lotion. Throughout all our canoeing, the water was all brown and warm. There was no fish or anything alive. Not only we had to drink this through a filter. Thank god I was able to survive all three days with 2 bottles of water that I had brought from home. While others were filtering water crazy and it was extremely time-consuming with just to filter one bottle.

Right now, I had just took a 3 hour nap and I got up with my arms sore, almost unable to type. I must finish my summer school work now!.

Survival Camp Day 2

(An example of how it looked like when we were white water canoeing)

Today we would be working a record in all of VY because we were going to do everything that took people 2 days to do within a day. Intense eh? So today, we got our canoes but with some difficulty. We had to hide behind the trees as they were dropping off the canoes because all of us were asians and they were white. It was hard to say that we are a family so we hid there for like an hour. Finally with our canoes, we started paddling around for a bit before we arrived we had face the rapids!!! It is a 3 person canoe and I was at the back steering us around. Thank god there was no mosquitoes as we paddled since we were in the middle of the river. We got to a mini kind of rapid where it was fast waters and we got up it to get an experience of how white water feels like. Unfortunately we flipped our canoe because we weren't balanced and it was saddening to be one of the few groups that flipped. Even like middle speed water was pretty fast when you were in it especially when your in a canoe. It was balance that you needed.

As we got close to a rapid or a mini waterfall, our guides told us to portage over it because the water level was too high and we would actually die if we went through. So it took like 1 hour before we can move all the canoes down the hill and into the water again. Tough work!! Then he made us all jump into the bottom of the waterfall. That is something that I have never done before. As I jumped into the waterfall, I was pushed down and with the help of the lifejacket, I did not sink and the currents pushed me along. It was amazing because it pushed us in the shape of a U. from the right side of the U to the left. It was amazing!!!!!!!! And then he gave us a challenge which was to move everyone across the rapids within 15 minutes. We had ropes and a lot of hands and it took a great deal of work before we were all able to cross the rapids. With the fast currents pushing along us, one of us had barely been able to hold on to the rope and almost was lost within the rapids. Thank god our guides were behind us and able to save her before she floated away. There were many rocks below and she would have been hurt in the process. We were successful with the challenge and we moved on to the next.

We finally came to a rapid that we could take on with the canoe. Unfortunately, as we got on the canoe, we were not balance and flipped within a second and we washed aways with all our belongings and canoe. We capsized twice already and we needed to redeem ourselves or else all our dignity was gone! We came across a few more minor rapids and we didn't capsize anymore with experience to our previous failures. Kind of happy from that but we had to paddle for like 10 hours which was never done before in VY history. 10 hours of paddling inside a canoe can definitely get your arms and legs sore.

When we built our campsite that night, all of us were sound asleep at 10PM and we didn't have a nice dinner because all of us were starving but we did not have enough food. We had bak choi but everyone refused to eat it because you had to do #2 from it. Therefore it started to rot the next day.

Survival Camp Day 1

Today I am skipping a whole day of summer school for this which is pretty bad. Oh well. I had a lotta fun today. Well it started with a wake up at 7:00AM to carpool one of our teammates to our pick-up area. We waited for an hour at the bus stop for that dude and he didn't show up. We tried calling his cellphone, homephone and our counsellor to see if he phoned him and told him not to pick us up. So as we arrive at our pick-up area, there he is, on that comfy lazy chair sitting there as if nothing happened. Oh well, I didn't let my anger take the best of me and I stayed calm and relaxed. Apparently, in the end, his parents were willing to take him to the pick up area and did not need our carpool. But he didn't tell us about it. We get up on the school bus and bus for like 2 and a half hours before we read our starting point. I heard that last year's golds had to stay huddled in their spot for like an hour because of a thunderstorm. I was quite worried because it was cloudy and it seemed like it was going to rain for this weekend as well. When we get there, everyone puts on bug spray because there are so many mosquitoes there. Within 10 minutes of having the professionals/guides arriving, we are wet because we need to cross a mini river to an island. We had to walk to a chest high water to reach our campsite. When we reach the campsite, we needed to find a shelter. This was like the worst day of my life because this campsite was so forested and had many many mosquitoes. I just got like 20 mosquito bites within 30 minutes and I had put on bug spray. No matter what, they just camp and kept biting me. It was terrible and it started to itch. GOOD thing there was after-bite. OH well we went into the water again learning how to rescue people when they are stuck in the water. For me, it felt so easy, because all you do is throw a rope behind the person in the water so the rope lands right next to the person and he can reach and grab on to it. As he grabs on, you just pull him towards you and I was named Chuck-It #2 because of my throwing skills. Today we didn't do much because apparently we will be getting our canoes tomorrow (Saturday) because we had a minor issue. Here's the issue, our counsellor had booked the canoes for all three days but the rejected our request because he had said they do not want to wreck their canoes. It was $2000 for a canoe and our program had wrecked a few already and so they declined us. So, our guides had to book it today and had to say it was for a family reunion. A BIG family reunion with like 20 something people. And so our canoes came tomorrow. We slept at 9:30PM for the day tomorrow. Pretty good sleep except the mosquito bites itched and there were some mosquitoes' inside the tent that bit me while I was asleep.

Day before Survival Camp

Oh noes. Just 10 hours before I must go on a long long and hard/painful journey. I have just finished packing and my 35 litre backpack is so light for once! I even brought a pillow and soda to drink for my survival camp. I hope it comes in good use. Not only that, I heard tomorrow's and this weekend's weather will be wet and rainy. That would not be good because if a thunderstorm came, we would not be able to canoe on the lake and we would have to wait until the storm is over before we can continue with our schedule. I sure hope I have fun.

Its been awhile

很久都没写这个blog. (Its been a long time since I updated this blog)
Yea its been a while since I update this blog because of this terribly long and tiring week. I have slept so little that its so hard to open my eyes in class and at home while working at home. It feels as if 24 hours is not enough for a day and I must always sacrifice my sleep in order to catch up with my assignments. Which means less sleeping and dreaming for me. Yea this week has been all homework and work for me. Yesterday I returned home at 2am from a meeting. Went to sleep at 4am and had like 3 hours of sleep before another day of summer school. When will all this end. In our meeting we discussed a proposal for like 5 hours but best of all, we got Wendy's!!! I got a double hamburger combo and it was good and delicious. Pretty much it for this week. Today I biked home without stopping and I am proud of that. Usually I have to stop because its so tiring and its all uphill. I feel I am getting stronger and stronger when I bike now but when I arrive home, I am always full of sweat. I wish I can have a popsicle to cool me down but my fridge is filled with frozen meat. Maybe I can use the ice from the frozen meat to cool me down. But what will I do when the meat is melted? its gonna rot. It has been a painful week with all the assignments and my project to do at the same time. I wish it was over soon because I will die if this continues on!

Inception

Right now, I feel kind of light-headed and a little high-ish just from a movie. But this movie just changed me, not only physically but mentally. This movie is so so so complex that I could not understand much of it throughout the movie. All I understood was people are trying to access other people's minds through a dream within another dream within another dream. So complex that my brain was spinning like a million times a minute just to keep up with the story. Just wow at the director who made this film. I gotta stand up and applause for whoever made this film. SO good and so confusing at the same time, no wonder the critics gave this movie a good rating. I totally agree with them. While watching this movie, my mouth was open the whole time, good thing I wasn't drooling or else it would have been embarrassing but it was so good, that I was amazed. Not many movies gain my interest and I must say it was good. For those of you reading, I do not want to spoil the ending but its so good. There is so much suspense in the entire film that you are always not sure what happens. And while you try to assume what's going to happen, your always wrong. That's what I felt. I give it a 9.5/10 because I was terribly dazzled yet a little confused because everything came by so fast. Not a second to think about things and understand it fully.

Anyways back to reality. First of all, it was a friend's birthday and so we celebrated it with a cake and at TenRen's at Empress. Apparently we got ripped off badly, like 11 of us ate and the bill came to a total of $120!!! There was HST and 15% gratuity which they did not tell us. Worst enough, they tried to cheat us our dessert... What kind of a restaurant is this, everything was overpriced and not worth it. I just called a bubble tea and it costed me $6 and the tapioca were not soft and chewy. Poor quality and poor service = never going to eat from this place again. Oh well, we were supposed to eat for like 3 hours.. but we had a cake to waste some time. We decided to walk to the school's field to eat our cake because TenRen's was too cheap to give us dishes and forks. Cheap Folks. Not bad of a cake. We had some leftover and we decided to have all of us run around the field once and the last one would eat the rest. However someone had to ruin it but dumping it in the garbage can. What a party pooper.

So we walked to Empress walk to watch our movie. As we went up the long long long escalator, we saw a long line-up. We were somewhat worried it would be for Inception so we were thinking of an alternative such as Eclipse, Karate Kid, etc. Turns out there were 100 seats available and we were content to buy the tickets. When we went inside, we found out it was almost full with like a bunch of empty seats in the very front. Who watches movie from the front, you always have to stretch your neck up to watch it. A big No NO for me and we chose some empty seats on the side. Waited over 30 minutes of commercials before the show started. Definitely coming back to watch this again. After watching it, I feel like I am in a dream or people that I see are actually projections. SO GOOD!!!

New Wallpaper/ Theme

Losing Sleep

Thursday: Days are passing by like a blur.
Darn, when I arrive home, I am always half-asleep. I know I must do my homework but I just go to my bed and sleep. However, I put on the timer for 2:30am and 3:00am. Yet, when I wake up in the morning, I feel that my alarm clock did not do its job properly. So I lug myself to school without much homework done and try and finish my homework without getting distracted. In class, its always hard to do my homework when the teacher is teaching class. Hard to concentrate, hard to read and most of all hard to block out his voice. Anyway, when I come back from school, I always try to catch up and I must say, I fail at this.
I had a long long meeting with my project friends on social media. GOD we were so useless that meeting, accomplished less than nothing and we had 6 hours of a meeting. I got hungry and started stuffing myself with the apple slices that her parents were giving to us. I kept dropping the apple when I was biting onto it because I was holding it with a meesly small toothpick. It always fell and people just laughed at me.

I changed my wallpaper and my theme of my computer today. HAPPY! ME!!!

The rest of the days were kind of a blur to me. hard to remember

2nd week of summer school.

It seems like quite a while since I updated my blog. I have not actually not update for only only 3 days. Somewhat still pissed that I could not pass a first-aid course on Sunday. So the 18 hours I sat on a chair to earn a first-aid course certificate was a complete waste because of this fail. 18 hours of non-stop listening, starving and writing was all a waste. Well after all the teaching about the first aid we were to be tested on. There was a theory and a practical test which you needed to achieve 70% to pass. The theory test I was sure I got over 90% but for the practical, that's another story. Our teacher said that if our casualty for the practical died we would get a 0% which results in us not passing. So I was finished my practical and the scenario was this casualty had angina and severe bleeding on the femur. Well... which injury would you tend to first. I chose the angina and that was the reason I failed. After treating for angina/mini heart attack, my casualty had lost a lot of blood and died. WHAT THE HECK. Both of them were serious, one results in your heart not beating and you would die from that and the other was serious bleeding. I believed I should have passed even with this mistake because it was a hard decision to make. Furthermore, he did not teach us anything about this. Many of us failed this course: Standard First Aid C and those that did pass had already received their certificate before. They had attended this course to renew it. Great, so I gotta go again to get my certificate.

On Monday, I completely forgot what happened except I had summer school otherwise nothing special happened that stayed in my memory. OH YEA. I REMEMBER... umm, we went to "tin yut" a nice japanese restaurant to eat all you can eat. Man the food was good, all I ate was chicken teriyaki and chicken on the stick. The dessert was just amazing which was mango yogurt and tiramisu. I ate like 10 cups of them. I don't usually eat sushi at a japanese restaurant, I actually prefer the seaweed and rice more than the salmon or stuffing inside. So bear in mind, next time you go with me to sushi, remember to give me the rice and seaweed.

Moving on to Tuesday, summer school was pretty good. All we usually do is play games or actually do work. Returned home to have a short P&G meeting at their headquarters in Toronto. We met their marketing manager and he gave us a small challenge. Not small but a challenging challenge. I left to go to my VY meeting which was kinda boring. Our teacher had left for an hour in the middle of the meeting to do something. We were left alone working on our route charts and menu planning. After that we went to Walmart to buy shoes at like 9:55. We had like 4 minutes to run inside the place and try the shoes. However after 4 minutes, we walked outside empty handed.

Night It Up Event Day 2

What a day what a day, so many things happened that I am sure I will forget some things when I write this blog post tonight. Its already 4:07am in the morning and at 4:00am, I finally returned home. Today I started my day wake up 10 minutes before my departure for a St. John's First Aid Course. In those ten minutes, I had to shower, pack my lunch and make sure I am ready. Rushed into the subway and arrived a few minutes early before our course started. The course was not that boring yet it was not interesting at all because it was first-aid. I am sure many of us first-aiders will not help people in need in any situation when they are not required to because there are always chances that we get sued. I for one may depend on performing first aid but it all DEPENDS.

At lunch, everyone got MacDonalds for lunch and the whole room that we were doing the first-aid course was smelling of fries and hamburgers. I ate two pieces of bread and was jealous of all those MacDonald buyers. We finished our course at 6:00pm and I left to go home. I got a large ice cappucino to make me stay awake for the next 7 hours of work and to treat myself after 8 hours of first-aid.
My E3 challenge was supposed to start at 5:00pm but I was not able to go because of my first aid course. I was required to be present from 9:00am-6:00pm for my first aid course. I could not leave early which was very frustrating. I arrived at Night It Up at 7:15pm and I heard my booth were not doing so well. I hope with me present, our booth was more successful. We had more prizes and I was on the megaphone for like a few hours yelling about our booth and to have people come over and try. I lost my voice in the process and I also met a lot of my friends. I also learned a lot about using a megaphone. Then we had a chance to go up on the stage to give a short advertisement to promote our booth. I was supposed to be a poker chip and I was thrown down onto a tile to demonstrate how our booth worked. I fell hard on the stage to make it look realistic and got hurt.

Over the next 6 hours, my team and I worked hard to earn as much as we can and we were happy to have many customers try our booth. After that, we sold our prizes as our game was coming to an end. Darn people sure love bargaining when our prizes were so cheap. They kept decreasing the prices and we were forced to give in and sell the prizes at the low prices. I was somewhat happy since we were still making money but not as much. I found a nice group of hong kong people who was really really great bargainers. I spent so much time persuading them to buy our prizes. I spent some money on the cheap things other people were selling such as bubble tea, meatballs, chicken on stick and aloe tea. It was a good night.

Night It Up Event Day 1

Today we did our usual english assignments in class. I was playing tilt to live again so addicted and its just so fun. Its such a simple game but its hard to survive for a long time. You usually die within like minutes. I am kind of behind in english assignments and must must must catch up before I fail. Don't want to fail this. Anyways, we played games, watched world cup and more from this class. My classmates from the bad teacher were so jealous. Oh well, that's life. I was laughing as some of my classmates got caught playing starcraft today. They were so focused that when the teacher walked by, they did not notice him. Pretty sad as the teacher started giving a short lecture about gaming in class. I was impressed that he did not punish them, this demonstrates that this teacher is very lenient and nice. We have not gotten any marks for our assignments yet so we have yet to know how his marking scheme is.

I heard one of my classmates from the bad teacher's class will try and switch out. His plan is to fake a sprained wrist. Therefore he cannot write essays because of his hand and he must use a computer. Our class is based on computer and everything is online. He is going to use this method to get into our class. I hope he gets in. Good Luck to him.

So I arrived at the Night it Up event late and all my partners were rushing to set up our booth before 7:00pm. There were 5 teams who were competing to have the highest profit within the two days. At 7:00pm all our revenue would be counted to the competition and we were freaking out since we were totally not ready. As we started our game booth at 7:00pm, there were many yelling at each other as we were freaking out and we did not have many customers. I even started to yell, note to self, gotta hold my anger. After some minor adjustments, our game booth became successful. I hope we are able to win however chances are minimal.

At 9:15, we had a 2 minute commercial on stage to advertise our booth. My role was to act as a poker chip and jump onto a tile which was on the floor. I was supposed to be really shy and someone would push me onto the tile. I jumped on the tile and landed exactly on the tile. This demonstrated how our game worked by showing off how easy our game was. Although it hurt, it was all worth it. That's was so embarrassing though. Other embarassing moments included having to stand on a chair with a megaphone telling people to try out our game booth. I had to speak in cantonese and english and I had to be loud. My partners had all lost their voices and I remained with a clear voice still. That's good.

Late Night Work

Finally was able to switch to the good teacher for my English Class. Here is the events that happened yesterday which lead to my good English Class. Yesterday, after lunch time, I decided to take all my stuff (backpack, notebook, etc) and walk out of the class. I went to the other English class which was the good teacher and had a talk with him. And yay, I am officially enrolled in his class, no more bad teacher anymore. As always school was boring and we talked in class until school was over. I biked home and fell asleep for 1 hour before I had to go finish our project before Night It Up, our event. We worked from 7:30pm-3:00am, which was like 8 hours of work for preparation for the upcoming game booth. We painted 4 signs, taped them so they would not get wet, sorted out prizes and that was about it. I could not believe painting 4 signs had used up so much time.

When I returned home which was like 4am, my parents were yelling at me for working up so late. Apparently, they had called me a few times but I did not pick up my cell. I don't use my cell phone often so don't expect me to always pick up the phone. But it was like 3:00am when we finished everything, actually not everything because we had some things to do but most of it.

No sleep for me tonight.

Summer School Distress

Today I arrived school at 8:29 just 1 minute before the school bell rang. When I made it to my desk, the announcer started O canada and a prayer because this was a catholic school. After that the long class of English started. For my quiz, I got 15/15. PERFECT! but when it got my essay, I got 16.5/20. What fail... 83... So disappointed. At lunch, I decided to switch class because I will not last with this teacher. I decided to get up and walk out of the class and go into the next English Class. So now, I am in my new class and our English classes are all on the computer. Its as if we are doing an e-learning course. I love this, and tomorrow I will be bringing my labtop to school. Maybe I can play games in class. HEHEHE.

Today our teacher decided to let us watch FIFA at 2:30. WOOHOO. GO GERMANY! I was playing tilt to live though, this awesome ipod application. It is so addicting but I am really bad at this game. Its always so hard to play it yet when I watch people play it, it seems so easy. ACK. Oh well, I hope I get better at that game.

After school, it took me half an hour to bike back home and I was sweating again. Saw a friend rolling blading back home. What a sad guy. LOL.

When I finally arrived home, I decided to sleep immediately because my eye lids were about to droop. It was a good light sleep before I was awakened to go and finish a project. Arrived at the partner's house and worked for 5 hours until 1:30am. We had a lot of work done and best of all, the mentor treated us to bubble tea. She felt that we deserved it because of all our hardwork and that taro bubble tea helped me stay awake as I was very sleepy. When I arrived home, it was 2:00am and I could not finish my homework. So I went to sleep until the next morning.

Mad!

Today I was so sleepy as I woke up from my bed. I felt like sleeping in but I held my ground and biked to school with droopy eyes the whole way. In class, as I saw many of my fellow students fall asleep, I was almost just like them. About to sleep yet trying to stop myself from doing so. However, at one point, I was too sleepy that I slept for 30 minutes. We had an in-class essay and tons of reading. That was about it. Thank god the school had air conditioning. I was so happy as I walked into the cool hallways of the school. It felt so refreshing being able to leave the hot outside place into a cool place like a refrigerator. I decided to bring an ice pack to cool myself down after lunch time.

After school, biked back and sweated like a pig as I rushed into my apartment. Beads of sweat kept dripping down my face, felt so sticky, icky and more sticky. On the car to a training session, I decided to study for a test that should be coming up soon and I had to study about camping and stuff. Good thing I did because when I arrived, people were already doing the test. The test was not that hard but there were many confusing yet funny questions. Like: Use 3-D glasses to read a topographical map. That made me laugh. Anyways we all passed and I was happy.

Returned back home all tired and got bitten by mosquitoes within 4 minutes as I was waiting for the bus to come. Now I have 3 mosquito bits and they were large, massive, white, bulgy and red. Felt like scratching but I put the really really smelly ointment and all the itchiness disappeared.

First day of Summer School

DUDE, today was so hot. I biked for like 15 minutes nonstop to get to brebeuf. While I was biking there, I kind of got lost because I was coming from Finch and Yonge. When I arrived at school I was soaking wet. I decided to go find out my room and boy, Brebeuf is a big school. I had to wait in line to get my new student slip because I did not pay yet. When I arrived at the designated classroom, I found out that the teacher was mean-looking and went back into the line to change my room number. I waited in line for like 3 hours and my legs were sore from standing but I was able to play an Itouch to take some time away. People were on break and I was still waiting in line. When I arrived at the classroom, the teacher said the room was full and moved me back to the mean-looking teacher. OMG all that waiting in line for nothing. If this teacher is bad, I will definitely go back to Cardinal Carter because I got accepted for that school too. Well apparently for the first class, this teacher gave us a short essay to write, a quiz and an assignment. But good thing he was an easy marker, which my friend had told me.

At lunch, a friend called me and told me that the teachers at Cardinal Carter were really really hard and many of my friends were dropping out of Cardinal and switching to Brebeuf. Good thing I decided to register for both so I can switch to either one. But I could not believe this, in the whole entire school, there will not be air conditioning today and tomorrow because the AC is busted. My teacher told us to have our parents complain to the school about this serious issue and I laughed. He said when the parents complained about it, the school board people just laughed. Great, no air conditioning for the next few days. How will I survive?

Man, this teacher gives a lot of work. Every minute of his class was like hell, people were falling asleep by the second and others were texting. I was hard at work studying. what a nerd. I know but I need a 90. After school, it took me half an hour to bike back home, because it was uphill. Maybe I should not bike to school anymore, because its so hot and I keep sweating.

Went to paintballin and darn that place was so stuffy. We had like 60 people stuck in a room with no air conditioning and with some bugs too. We had to wear really big suits so the paint does not go on our clothes and it was really hot because it was all long sleeved. Our guns were not really accurate because the paintball does not actually fly straight but a little curved. In the last round, I got shot my own teammates like 5-6 times which was annoying. It was close-range and they kept shooting. I was like stop but they kept going, I was like on their team and they keep firing. Now I have bruises and bleeding spots all over my back and shoulder. I am all sticky, sweaty and hurt.

I saved a paintball to keep. Its all squishy.

Worn out.

Today, it felt like I woke up really really early although it was only at about 8:00ish. It felt like waking up early in the morning. Woke up in a hurry and was on our way to our training session. Although I was at this training session, I was missing out on a sponsorship trip that my partners were intending to do today. So today, we got scorched by the sun as we stood in the cloudless, open field of a park. We had to help teach Gr 9's on building tents, choosing campsites, making meals, equipments and maps and compasses. Not that fun actually, although I was in charge of teaching maps and compasses. I think I did kind of well teaching maps and compasses to the kids.

It was so hot today, and it was really sunny. Good thing I put on sun screen before I came otherwise I would be shedding skin tomorrow. I hate when that happens. Stayed in the sun for like 7 hours and was sweating like a pig. I was all sticky with sun screen and sweat. Definitely needed a shower. I decided to have the Gr 9's go on a long scavenger hunt so they can feel how it is to continue walking at like 30 degrees. I felt like a meanie but oh well, I was doing it for their own good. I had to be mean during training sessions otherwise when they are all alone on a trail they would be helpless. It is better to mess up at a training session than to be in the wild with no one to help you. That would be a bummer. While in this intense heat, we were granted freezies and coke. I was somewhat relieved from the heat for a few minutes before I finished my cold drinks.

After the training session was over, my parents finally treated us outside to a chinese restaurant. For the first time in like decades, we were outside eating dinner. What a great feeling it was but I was all sweaty though. The food was good so I was happy.

When I arrived home, I found out that my sponsorship partners had done a great deal of work while I was at the training session. They were really lucky today and they found a lot of sponsors. I missed out on all the fun. Darn!

4th Time at Pmall? (in a week)

Omg, Pmall is a dreadful place to ask for sponsorship. Second of all, it is painful too. Walked for 3 hours begging/asking people with my fail cantonese and mandarin to sponsor us prizes. Oh while, we were asking for sponsorship, I decided to go buy bubble tea. So refreshing to chew on tapioca early in the morning. Well it was already 1:30pm but its kind of still early for me. Next time, I will go try taro bubble tea because apparently my friends said it was really good. If I get a next time. *sigh* pmall is so far from me and its always such a long ride there and back. I would rather just stay home and sleep. Man, today was crowded in Pmall, so much people compared to before and it was so hard to find the right time to ask store managers for sponsorship.

After we walked for so long, our peer advisor decided to show up. He was three and a half hours late because he fell asleep. That's was funny, but he treated us to dinner at Pmall. The food wasn't that bad, I decided to order spicy beef noodles because I did not need to pay for it. When the food came, it was in such a large bowl and I was barely able to finish it. I was surprised at how filling the bowl of noodles was.

After that, we went to the Pmall arcade and boy it was loud inside. I watched a pro play Time Crisis. He beat a lot of stages and it seemed really hard to play. I decided to try a driving game, wasn't that bad. And then we were out of tokens and decided to leave.

Eaton Centre

Today I had my E3 meeting at Eaton's Centre. We decided to experiment with our game at Dundas Square, right at the open area where the stage is placed. It was sunny, in the public and a lot of people were watching us. While we played our game, some people gave us some helpful tips and game ideas while others decided to purposely step on our game. What jerks!. I saw a few people selling vuvuzela's and it looked really really awesome. I wanted to buy it but I decided to wait until later. However after I returned, the people selling the vuvuzela had disappeared. I was disappointed. After playing with our game for awhile, we decided to go up to the food court to discuss the proposal and the timeline before our event. Also we practiced our short speeches that we needed to present to store managers amongst ourselves.

Finally we were ready to go sponsorship hunting. Split up into teams of 2 and went to ask for sponsorships at stores all around Eatons Centre. Although we got a lot of rejections and please call the head office for sponsorships. They are corporate stores so they cannot make decisions by themselves apparently... Luckily, We found a few sponsors that seemed willing to donate prizes to us. This increased our morale and we continued to ask along Queen Street until we reached China Town. As we kind of got hungry, we decided to go to Tim Hortons and I bought a large Ice Coffee. I have to say, it was not as good as the one I had gotten last time. We also passed by a small girlie store and the store owner was generous enough to let us choose a gift of our own for our event on the spot. We were also able to get 4 movie tickets from the Cineplex too. Made my day happy.!!

As we approached China Town, I was amazed as I saw the border between western city and china town. On one end of the street, there were many Chinese signs and on the other end, it was all English signs. Went inside two small malls in China town and found out that many of the stores are closed. Darn! and a found a few gift shops. Our mentor was nice enough to buy us sugar cane juice. It was little sweet and as I looked inside my cup, I saw dark murky liquid while my friends had kind of light yellow liquid. I hope I do not get food poisoning from this.

Yea, that's pretty much my day. I walked for like 4-5 hours and dang my legs hurt bad. I do not like walking yet I have been walking so much for the past few days.

Good Sleep

Slept like a pig today. When my parents decided to wake me up at 12:00am. I told them to shut up in their face and then went back to bed and continued on with my good sleep. Slept until 1ish and woke up to find that all the breakfast was already eaten. I had to go find food for myself. Ugh. Found piece of bread and peanut butter and milk.

After that, went to photocopy 200 copies of sponsorship letters. Took a quite awhile. After that, arrived at Pmall and went to get bubble tea. This is like my second time drinking bubble tea in like 4 years? But Man, Bubble tea is always so good. I kind of prefer bubble tea without flavours just the usual milk tea is fine for me. The chewy tapioca is the best thing about the bubble tea, its so chewy and so squishy.

Went to Pmall to receive our sponsored prizes and it looked really really nice. After that, I went around Pmall trying to find the few stores that I had remembered seeing yesterday because they had some pretty interesting jewelry. I found the first one but it didn't have the thing I was looking for. Walked around all the corridors and aisles of Pmall to finally find the one and only shop that I have found the jewelry yesterday. When I went inside, it was really empty and I found that everything in there was for girls. There were some girls in there too, kind of felt a little embarrassed. So I bought a bracelet and ended my shopping spree there. Walked for like 1 hour and bought 1 item, pretty good results.

Today, I had a haircut and its somewhat big. I felt that I lost a lotta hair but at the same time, I was not aware of the cutting of my hair. I was too focused at watching a TV show for 2 hours. In the end, I measured my hair and found that it was 3cm long. Awww. that's so freaking short. But some positive points are I will not be perspiring as much.
