Anyways I woke up early in the morning, I consider early because I usually wake up even later and leave my house at 7:45 to find myself end up at my polling area at 8:28am 2 minutes before I lost my job. Usually it would have taken 15 minutes to reach this area but I ended up getting lost and had to run around 2 blocks trying to find my area before deciding to stop at a local store and ask for directions. This stupidness almost cost me my job = $200 LOL. Thank god I ended up there.
There, the excitement started. We were all hyped up to welcome the voters as we opened up our station. It was silence for like 5 hours LMAO. like COMPLETE SILENCE. No one came, nothing happened and we were bored. Some dude decided to do push-ups and others began to dance. Funny because they were old men and women like ppl in their 60-70's... Weird bunch of ppl I suppose!
Then when rush hour began, people started to rush in. Then there was there was this noise that was humming and everyone started looking in that direction. It was some constant humm so no one could neglect it and apparently this lady was breastfeeding... like a machine that was taking the milk... I was like WHAT THA EFFF!?! LIKE IN A GOVERNMENT JOB!? WITH LIKE SO MANY PEOPLE AROUND!? She did it for 15 minutes straight before she had to go and take the machine off. There was such a long line of people waiting for her. It was so jokes too. Though the people waiting in line didn't know what the person was doing... but all of us workers knew what was happening. Then the table beside me with all old men and women started talking about all the benefits of mama's milk than artificial milk. I told them, I didn't need to know about this and they said, well, ur learning a lot from a government job so you should understand learn some more too. I was like......... wow. IM 17. I DO NOT NEED TO KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THIS.
But that wasn't it. As people came rushing in, there were all kinds of obnoxious and ridiculous people who just couldn't follow the government policy. Basically we needed some kind of identification that had a photo and an address which could not be the voters card. There were so many times where this dispute happened where they only brought a voters card or something that only showed a photo without any address. Thank god I didn't have to deal with this but the information officer had to. I was only at the sidelines watching and laughing. LOL.
Anyways, this lady had came and had this dispute and then said forget it, Im not doing this and just walked away. There was this old chinese dude who came and started yelling at our information officer who was caucasian in chinese and he was just baffled. Kept repeating, please take out ur identification while the other had no idea what he was saying. It was such a funny scene. At other times, there was these people who just started swearing at him. After they left unsatifisfied still, the information officer was like... why are they giving me attitude. Im just doing my job and Im getting yelled at so much. I WAS LAUGHING SO HARD!!!!!!!!!!!! Funny how there are so many people who don't read things properly and just get frustrated and unleash their anger on our poor fellow.
Anyways thats about it.!! GOOD EXPERIENCE!
but my tongue has got a blister from trying to get the food stuck in my mouth too much. It hurts so much right now!!!
